Hagleitner aims to popularize disinfection and hand washing
A technological advancement may enhance hygiene practices; especially public facilities and tradespeople will gain certainty. This is how Hagleitner argues. On October 7, 2020, the Austrian company launched new hygiene dispensers. The devices provide not only disinfectants, cosmetics, and sanitary paper but also digital device data – accessible via smartphone. 1.000 designs per dispenser are supposed to make hygiene more attractive to people.
“Hygiene requires awareness”, explains Hans Georg Hagleitner, business owner and CEO. “It’s one thing noticing a hygiene dispenser, but quite another to use it. Actual ratios eventually count. Let’s assume a store has two entrances; both are equally frequented. While people disinfect their hands often at one door, they almost never do at the other. This can have various reasons: the dispenser might be empty, its battery might be dead, or it might simply not be clearly visible. Therefore, knowing the facts helps – as well as analyzing them digitally. This enables to draw reasonable conclusions. At the same time, hygiene is documented, which certainly helps when it comes to official inspections.”
New dispenser supplies disinfectant, cosmetics – and data
From October 7, 2020 onwards, eight dispensers provide device data – about consumption, fill level, and energy status. The different devices dispense hand disinfectant, toilet seat disinfectant, toilet paper, toilet paper moisturizer, foam soap, skin protectant, and air freshener. The eighth device, the hand paper towel dispenser, had come on the market already in 2019.
“Hygiene and disinfection have had to fight for acceptance; however, there’s still room for improvement”, says the business owner. “Hygiene aims for health; thus, it is perfectly legitimate to show how beautiful and exciting hygiene can be. 1.000 designs can dress each of our new dispensers, people have the choice – as they have concerning the energy source: the professional hygiene market has not offered battery-operated dispensers as yet, so Hagleitner has entered uncharted territory. This fact made the battery all the more important to us; not only from the perspective of sustainability, but also because customers want to stay as independent as possible.”
Powered by adapter, battery, or ‘energy box’
The new product line by Hagleitner is called Xibu hybrid – hybrid since the devices provide both hygiene products and data. The dispensers can be powered in three ways: by AC adapter, battery, or ‘energy box’. The latter accumulates electrical energy in order to provide the device with power. When the energy box reaches the end of its life, the manufacturer will take it back and recycle it.
The new dispensers’ appearance is manifold. Their front cover is available in two colors: black and white. Their side panels can be styled in numerous ways: 200 plain colors and 800 patterns add up to 1.000 designs.
